NivUp — A gamified EdTech platform for French-speaking African students
A new way to learn and progress: the next generation of EdTech designed by and for French-speaking Africa
The starting point
French-speaking Africa is home to more than 200 million school-age young people, the vast majority of whom study on mobile devices with limited connectivity. Existing EdTech platforms are built for Western markets: language, cultural references, teaching methods and payment models are all ill-suited. DIGITEUL set out to build the African answer.
The challenge to meet
Design a learning platform that runs on entry-level phones over unstable 2G/3G connections, uses gamification mechanics adapted to African cultural codes, aligns with the official curricula of Education ministries, and monetises through mobile money rather than bank cards.
What we built
NivUp is a mobile app (React Native) with an adaptive learning engine: the AI analyses each student's error profile and personalises content in real time. Balanced gamification (levels, badges, inter-class competitions), full offline mode with smart sync, and payment via PayDunya and CinetPay.
